Artist Collaboration: Telephone Game
Recently I was asked to participate in this amazing collaboration by @renahasrulos. 24 artists played the game of telephone starting with one artist and one picture, interpreting it and passing it along to the next artist. We had 2 days to take a peice of art provided and make your own interpretation of it.
When it was my turn I was so stressed out with the timeline and even re-drew my entry. I took a few.. ::throat clears:: liberties with the outfit and hair that I was nervous about for a month and a half.
It was amazing to see all 24 entries in order which lasted from April 20 to June 6. The last one was waaaaaay different than the first but all were amazing! Here are the artists who were part of the massive 24 person collab on instagram. Show them some love and check out their page.
Photo 0, graphics combining characters and the overall management of this project was by @renahasrulos.
This was my submission for the game. The illustration passed to me had pig tails and a polo dress that I could not make work for the life of me but I did attempt it before making her a little more medieval.
This was my incomplete attempt with the cute pig tails and polo dress look. I can only imagine the end result if I completed and passed along this version.
It's pretty amazing to think how each decision made by each artist affected the end result.
If you like what you see, check out the artists linked above for their full colored pictures. If you're an artist, consider collaboration. Not only was it a blast but working in a short time period forced me to think outside of the box, be more creative and grow.
