Art is Storytelling
Like reading a book, I imagine what the characters are feeling in that moment. What they are planning to do next and what they're overall mission in life might be. Even when I start with a blank slate and no backgrounds are added, a story begins to unfold as I make tiny decisions like choosing between a wry smile or an evil grin.
Maybe one day I'll give some of these characters a full story through digital art so I can share the personalities and temperaments I've grown to love.
This is Keyla Re, my first original character I created for a Dungeon & Dragons game. We played a total of 4 games before the genius running the game changed work shifts. I came up with a ton of background detail about her including traits that reflect my real life. As my first real 'oc', she's a bit special to me.
